Q&A - Page 3:
Q:
Do you feel that studios, in general, are
serious about diversity; really opening
a new window to the world?
TAYLOR: I think there is
a growing understanding on the part of studios
and networks on the importance of diversity.
Networks and studios are aware of the demographic
changes in our country. This audience is
extremely important to their success.
Q:
Is this diversity development what you wanted
to do when you came into the business?
TAYLOR: No. I’ve
been a development executive and a writer
and diversity development is something that
I just discovered. And I thought it would
potentially be a very exciting area to be
in and it has proven to be true.
Q: You are focused on making
this happen?
TAYLOR: Part of what we
do here is try to make Fox shows more successful.
In the process of doing that we help to
correct the historic imbalance in employment
that has excluded diverse talent for many,
many years.
Q: Do you interface with
the community?
TAYLOR: We frequently do,
some times in meetings, sometimes in just
fielding phone calls, and other times in
reaching out, saying, “Hey, be on
the look out for this and tell us what you
think.”
