Attention screenwriters! The Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center is now accepting submissions for its first annual screenwriting competition.

Submissions must be original screenplays of 90-120 pages and will be accepted only by mail postmarked by midnight, September 30, 2004.

The BHERC will select 10 runners-up who will each receive 2 passes to the African American Film Market Place in Hollywood, CA November 5th –7th. One grand prizewinner will receive the following:

• A writing mentor (who will be announced at the festival).
• A one-year membership to the Organization of Black Screenwriters (OBS).
• 2 meetings, one with a Story Editor and another with a Development Executive   from film production companies to discuss the selected script.
• A live staged reading of the selected script at the African American Film   Marketplace performed by professional actors and directed by an independent   film director.
• 2 passes to the African American Film Marketplace.
