Industry Leaders Speak Out During Coffee Klatch

“Coffee with Stan Lathan, Ralph Farquhar, and Felicia Henderson” will be a special feature of the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center’s 11th annual “African-American Film Marketplace and S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase,” November 5 through 7, at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles..

Lathan, Farquhar and Henderson will, on November 6, 10 to 11:30 a.m., candidly offer their personal perspectives on the entertainment industry, talk about their careers and what it took to get where they are, as well as where they think the film and TV industry is headed.

Lathan is an accomplished Producer and one of Hollywood’s most prolific directors of television and film. He has directed the pilots of many successful sitcoms, including, “Moesha,” “Martin,” “The Parkers,” “South Central,” “Amen,” “All of Us,” and “Eve!” He produced and directed the highly successful HBO “Def Comedy Jam” series. In 2003, won a Peabody Award for their groundbreaking series “Def Poetry Jam” on HBO. That same year, Lathan produced and directed “Def Poetry Jam on Broadway won a Tony Award.
Farquhar began his career writing for the classic ABC television series “Happy Days.” He quickly advanced into producing ranks as the Supervising Producer of Fox’s “Married With Children. He co-create the provocative Fox series “South Central” and UPN’s hit comedies “Moesha” and “The Parkers. Farquhar is currently Executive Producer “Dance 360” as well as Disney Channel’s hit animation series “The Proud Family” and Executive Producer/Co-Creator of UPN’s new romantic comedy “Second Time Around.”

Henderson, writer/producer/director for ShowTime’s “Soul Food,” has also written for such shows as “Family Matters,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “The Parkers.” Her previous producing credits include “Moesha” and “Sister, Sister.”
